WEAVING BASICS AND BEYOND:
EXPLORING PATTERN WEAVES
This is a mixed level, 6 session class open to both beginners and experienced students. New weavers will learn all the steps to setting up the loom, from measuring a warp and dressing the loom to weaving a sampler using basic threading and treadling patterns. More experienced students will focus on the “how to” of pattern weaving: reading a pattern, block weaves, profile drafts, centering, complex weaves, etc. You will weave a project of your choice exploring the magic of weaving patterns. Materials not included. Project costs will vary.
Suitable materials will be discussed at the first class and are available for purchase at The Weaving School. Looms provided. Ages 16+ are welcome.
Wednesdays, September 19, 26 & October 3, 10, 17 & 24
