WEAVING BASICS AND BEYOND:
In this mixed level, 6 session class, new weavers will experience the complete loom weaving process from measuring a warp, dressing the loom, weaving a sampler using basic threading and treadling patterns, through finishing techniques. More experienced weavers will focus on the magic of double weave by making a double weave sampler. Double weave is an ancient technique in which the weaver can weave either 2 separate layers of cloth, a cloth that is double the width, or 2 layers of cloth that intersect either by loom control or hand manipulation.
Suitable materials will be discussed at the first class and are available for purchase at The Weaving School. Looms provided. Ages 16+ are welcome.
Wednesdays, March 21, 28 & April 4, 11, 18 & 25
